The use of a refrigeration plant with compressors driven by inverters.
An inverter refrigeration plant is able to regulate the refrigeration power required by the system through the continuous variation of the
number of revolutions of its components. Such a system allows for:
– operate with a constant evaporation pressure in any working condition;
– to operate with maximum thermodynamic efficiency;
– maximize the efficiency of heat exchangers;
– limit the reaction times of the system;
– increase the useful life of components;
– limit the electrical consumption of machines to a minimum.
Take as an example the case study reported in Table 1 which takes a 25HP compressor as a reference.
From the lines highlighted in blue it can be deduced that a traditional machine can be compared with an inverter machine when
compared under nominal conditions. In part-load operation, a traditional machine will instead consume more electrical energy and deliver less refrigeration power at the expense of COP and operating costs.

Regulation (EU) no 517/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014
on fluorinated greenhouse gases and repealing Regulation (EC) No 842/2006
ANNEX: Placing on the market prohibitions referred to in article 11(1).

Products and equipment: Where relevant, the GWP of mixtures containing fluorinated greenhouse gases shall be
calculated in accordance with Annex IV, as provided for in point 6 of Article 2

Refrigerators and freezers for commercialuse (hermetically sealed equipment) that contain HFCs with GWP of 150 or
more.

Stationary refrigeration equipment, that contains, or whose functioning relies upon, HFCs
with GWP of 2 500 or more except equipment intended for application designed to cool products to temperatures
below – 50 °C.
